Review: Dance Flick

Ever since the epic parody trilogy of the Scary Movies, the Wayans brothers have been producing parody movie after parody movie. From Little Man which bombed terribly and White Chicks which was actually pretty funny now they have created Dance Flick.
I went to this movie with an open mind, I did not expect it to be godly nor did I go in with the attitude they it would be horrid. However within the first few minutes of the movie, which started with a dance battle simular to something you would see on MTV, I found myself regretting being talked into going to see this. Even then, I shook my feelings off and tried to enjoy the “funny movie”. I have to admit that after the first few minutes I received a few laughs, ok I laughed a lot but I could not judge if it was just mine and my friends immaturity because besides us in the theater there were two other girls… (Not very good looking girls and they were kind of odd).
Anyway, the plot developed around Save the Last Dance, which surprisingly played out very well. The Wayan brothers incorporated the movies Highschool Musical, Hairspray, Catwoman and a few more. After several jokes regarding Zac Efron’s Highschool Musical character being gay the movie started to get pretty dull. I tended to drift off and think of what I was going to do after the movie was over because the movie lost all of my attention from the insanely long boring who gives a care scenes.
All in all, this “comedy” failed to give me the amount of laughs I would expect for eight dollars. My advice to you, you will have more fun reading reviews on filmreelz.com or hanging out with friends than to day dream in a movie theater.
